This years Fall Fire School held August 25, at the Galesburg Regional Fire Training Center with 101 firefighters attending from 29 area fire departments. Six classes were offered: Basic Auto Extrication, Essentials, MABAS, Blood Borene Pathogens refresher, Haz-Mat refresher and Structural Firefighting 101. The largest attended class was Essentials.
The 3rd Annual Firefighters Essentials Challenge was held at the end of the fire school. This year's 1st place winner was the Clover - Joy Fire Department team, with 2nd place going to the Fire School staff and Victoria Fire department took 3rd. First place winners were awarded $150 cash, a fireman's ax plaque (donated by PlanoAmerica) and their department's name on the burn tower for a year.
